Mimicry joins Oculus Start program – Ganbatte coming to Oculus Go!
Disclosure: we’ve accepted free Oculus Start Dev Kits from Oculus in connection with this post.
A few months ago we applied to the Oculus Start program, a developer program from Oculus that aims to provide access, support and savings to VR devs. Today we’re excited to share with you that we’ve been accepted into the program! So what does this mean? First of all it means that we’re part of a stronger and more tightly knit eco system of Oculus VR developers. This has the benefit of knowledge sharing and shared problem solving through access to an exclusive forum. Secondly, it offloads some of the development costs, so that we can focus on what matters most, making great VR applications. In practical terms, this currently means that we’ve been gifted development hardware (+ some other motivational goodies). Please join us in the unboxing session in the video below, where our technical lead Daniela discovers what’s inside the box.
These resources definitely help us in our endeavour to make great virtual reality applications, and bring our VR creations to the Oculus platform, enabling us to enrich the lives of hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of VR users around the world. We’d like to express our sincere gratitude to the Oculus Start Team for supporting us and many of other VR developers around the world. It’s because of you that our VR application, Ganbatte, is en-route to the Oculus platform. It will be our first title available on the Oculus store, w00t! And to make this blogpost even more exciting, we hereby also announce that Ganbatte will be coming to the Oculus Go! We hope you enjoy the unboxing video and can’t wait to share more info about Ganbatte’s development, gameplay for the Oculus Go, and our adventure as part of the Oculus Start program.
Thanks for reading and stay awesome,
Thomas
